Blockchain technology has disrupted this model without sacrificing the user experience. Blockchain games have several advantages over traditional games:

• Players have permanent ownership and control over their in-game assets (e.g., characters, skins, equipment) which are represented by non-fungible tokens (NFTs);

• Players can freely trade their in-game assets on decentralised marketplaces which allows for peer-to-peer transactions;

• Players can move their in-game assets between accounts so if they start a new account, they can bring their assets with them;

• Players can move their in-game assets between games within the same gaming multiverse;

• They allow for Decentralised Autonomous Organisations (DAOs), which place control in the hands of their users. For example, the network is required to vote on changes to a game’s mechanics.
